As soon as the play, Looking, was finished, we flew to St Louis, Missouri, for a visit with Collin, Evelyn, Asher and Makenna. Collin has been promoted to General Manager of the St Louis FlexJet maintenance facility and the family had moved there from Cleveland, OH.
It was the first time Jenni had been to Missouri so promised to be an interesting and exciting time. We were not disappointed.
Makenna became a teenager this year, having turned 13 in March and Asher is now 9. Collin, of course was settling into a new job and Evelyn, having completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, is now studying for her Master’s.
Our plans were to spend some time sightseeing and as much time as possible with the family. Collin had researched “things to do” for us, and our first stop on the sightseeing tour was the Art Museum. Whenever we go to a new city or town, our first stop is usually the art museum, and this was certainly worthwhile.
In the center of St Louis sits Forest Park which houses the Art Museum, the History Museum, several golf courses, tennis centers, lakes, a boathouse restaurant and many other activities. It is a beautiful spot to visit.
This beautiful lake is a feature right in front of the Art Museum:

Here is St Louis on horseback in front of the Museum and the beautiful museum entrance hall:

We certainly enjoyed our first day of sightseeing in St Louis. Dinner with the family in the evening and we discovered that Makenna is now swimming and has coaching sessions on Saturday afternoons. Jenni went with Makenna and Evelyn to training and was super-impressed with her swimming style – the first Freestyle and the second Backstroke. See below.
When we could get Asher to stand still for long enough, we managed to get this photo taken with him!

During our time there we went on a tour of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, visited the History Museum, the Gateway Arch and Museum, the Cathedral Basilica of St Louis. Collin took us to see the FlexJet maintenance facility where he worked, The National Transportation Museum (where Asher had great fun), Lone Elk Park (where there are Elk and Moose). So we certainly had a few days full of activity.

So, as you can see, we had a great time catching up with family and visiting new places. And here are the 2025 school photos of our lovely grandchildren.
