The final play of the 2024-25 Charlotte Players season, and once again, a real challenge to direct. The original production had been presented on a large off-broadway stage that had turntables on both stage right and stage left. These were swung onto stage at different times to play the different scenes in the Casino.
Our stage at Charlotte Players is 34 feet in width, 15 feet depth and no turntables. The challenge was to fit all the scenes (and the cast) into the available space – but Jenni got it done!!

The story was that Nana had moved to Vegas with her best friend, Vera, and was making showgirl costumes at the El Tropical Casino. She was dating a mobster, Dino. Her granddaughter, Bridget comes to visit for her bridal shower.
Unbeknownst to Bridget, her fiance, Tom, has been recruited by the FBI and arrives at the El Tropical to get the low-down on the Mastropietro family, for whom Dino works.
Added to the mix is Gia Mastropietro, granddaughter to Dino’s boss, and sent by him to “take care” of Dino. As you can imagine this all led to some crazy and hilarious situations causing much laughter and fun for the audience (and the actors).
